It’s been a busy off-season for one of the most progressive sporting clubs in the region with the Pakenham Rugby League Club set for a massive 2023.
Now just six weeks out from the season, there’s been a lot taking place at Eels headquarters at Comely Banks Recreation Reserve.
The Eels were excited to host a Touch Competition across September to December, and also rolled out the red carpet to the Melbourne Storm for its ‘NRL SG Ball Cup’ games.
The elite under-19 competition provided a great opportunity for the club to showcase its state-of-the-art Rugby League facilities.
In conjunction with NRL Victoria, the Eels also recently launched their season with a special event.
The club hosted a ‘Come and Try’ clinic to help encourage engagement with the community of Cardinia and particularly kids new to the sport.
The Eels had a great turnout with many participants not before participating in Rugby League, which is fantastic for both the club and the sport, which both continue to evolve.
The club has also put a very structured pre-season schedule together, with seniors getting back to training in January, and the up-and-coming juniors returning to the club this week.
