Goon girls begin a new journey

With the kick off season 2023 fast approaching the Nar Nar Goon Junior Football Club is on a recruitment drive.

The Goon is opening the doors to players who are interested in joining a club with a great family culture that plays in the West Gippsland Football Competition.

The club is looking for people who enjoy making new friends and beginnings and who love their football.

The junior club is based at the Nar Nar Goon Recreation Reserve, Spencer St Nar Nar Goon.

However, due to some fantastic ground upgrades taking place, the club is training at James Bathe Pavilion in Pakenham until further notice.

Nar Nar Goon has availability for all ages from Under 8s through to Under 14s and all teams have great coaches and good numbers.

The club also has three girls teams, in Under 12s Under 14s and Youth Girls Under 18’s.

Last year the club enjoyed a successful season with the Under 12s and 14s.

The first training session started out with only three players, but 40 girls had registered as the season began.

This season Nar Nar Goon will compete in the Youth Girls competition.

These games are played on Sunday, around mid-to-early afternoon throughout Gippsland.

This has been designed to not interfere with local netball competitions and will allow our youth girls to create some new friends and potentially new pathways.

Nar Nar Goon invites people to come on down to training, to meet the coaches and players and to join in the fun at Nar Nar Goon Junior Football Club this season.

NNG JFC is recruiting players in the following age groups:

• Under 12 Girls – Coach Aaron Urquhart

• Under 14 Girls – Coach Graeme Coombs

• NEW! Youth Girls 15-18 years old – Coach Brad Kelly

Training starts/started on Wednesday 8 March at James Bathe Pavilion Officer.

Under 12’s from 5.25pm to 6.25pm

Under 14’s and Youth Girls from 6.35pm to 7.35pm

Games are played on Friday night for under 12’s and 14’s girls and Sunday afternoon for Youth Girls.

Please contact the club at nngjuniorfc@gmail.com or on Facebook.
