Mighty comeback for Middels

Middels 26ers continue to keep pace with the heavy-hitters of the South West Gippsland Dart League after an exciting round-four victory over Mud Rats.

The 26ers, who were outclassed 14-1 in their opening-round contest against the Rebels, have rebounded in spectacular style with three-consecutive victories over Bullseyes, The Hoodies and now the Mud Rats.

The 8-7 victory in round four sees the 26ers climb to the fourth place on the ladder and just one game adrift of the ladder-leading and undefeated Warriors.

One of the individual highlights of the night was the brilliant 174 thrown by Keith from the Mud Rats.

The other main highlight came from Terry from the Rebels, who threw the highest peg-out of the night with a 104 check-out against PakyOne.

Unfortunately, the great effort from Terry wasn’t enough to get the Rebels across the line, with PakyOne remaining in the top-three after a rock-solid 9-6 victory.

The top-three teams all had impressive wins, although undefeated Warriors were pushed hard by a vastly-improved Gembrook.

The Warriors won 9-6, with Ant, Etty, Jazz, Hank and Liam starting the season off in super-impressive fashion.

Gembrook is also showing great signs and could be a smoky for finals calculations this season.

Second-placed Snipers were far too good for Fore, winning 14-1, with Dean in great form throwing ton number 22 for the season.

And in the last game of round four, Bullseyes enjoyed the winning feeling for the first time this season with a 12-3 win over The Hoodies.

Newcomers The Hoodies are gradually improving each week, with the three legs won in round four their highest tally for the season.

Just Social, who sit fifth, had the round-four bye.

SWGDL LADDER – ROUND 4

Warriors 16, Snipers 12, PakyOne 12, 26ers 12, Just Social 8, Rebels 8, Gembrook 8, Bullseyes 4, Mud rats 0, Fore 0, The Hoodies 0.
