Athletics Open Day a huge success

Overcast conditions couldn’t stop Pakenham Little Athletics from showcasing some of its brightest young talent at the club’s inaugural Open Day at Toomuc Reserve on Sunday.

The grass track at Toomuc was a sea of colour with 270 athletes from 35 clubs running, jumping, and throwing their way to medal-winning performances.

Multiple personal bests were achieved and athletes finished the day feeling satisfied and accomplished.

Pakenham Little Athletics Secretary Bel Wouters said the day was well received by local athletes and those from other clubs.

“We had some big clubs turn up for the day, which was quite daunting, but they absolutely loved it and gave us positive feedback,” Wouters said.

“It was a great fun day, the kids loved it and we’re very proud of how our first Open Day panned out.”

Those interested in joining Pakenham Little Athletics are free to contact Bel Wouters on 0493 536 915.
