Labour of love for the Lions

The atmosphere was electric at the Pakenham Cricket Club on Saturday as many familiar faces gathered for the huge game between the Lions and their respected rivals Kooweerup.

Life members, social members, past players and sponsors were welcomed by Lions’ president Phil Anning as the club said ‘Thank You’ to the many people and businesses that have helped make the club the thriving sporting hub that it is today.

For the record, the Lions defeated the Demons by 26 runs to maintain their position at the top of the Casey Cardinia Cricket Association Premier Division ladder.

The Lions next big event takes place on Saturday 11 February when the club becomes a sea of colour for its hugely-popular Pink Ladies Day, raising funds and awareness for the McGrath Foundation.
