Snipers hit their target

Snipers have had the last laugh in their ongoing battle with Just Social after taking out the South West Gippsland Dart League (SWGDL) Division One title at the Cardinia Club in Pakenham.

The SWGDL hosts two seasons in the one calendar year, with Just Social emerging victorious in the Summer season which ended in early June.

Just Social remained the dominant force during the Winter season, but Snipers pegged back that advantage in the latter rounds and progressed to the grand final with a major semi-final win just two weeks ago.

Just Social then proved too strong for Warriors in the preliminary final, setting up a mouth-watering last game of darts for the year.

Snipers well and truly earned redemption, winning 8-4 in Tuesday night’s grand final to square the ledger with Just Social in a fitting finale to the year.

It’s been a hugely successful period for the SWGDL, with the competition growing from eight to 10 teams for the Winter season.

The SWGDL, who this week hosts its presentation night for both seasons, has plans on growing its competition by almost double at the beginning of 2023.
