Sunday tennis saves the day

All Saturday matches in the Berwick District Tennis Association (BDTA) were washed out but it didn’t stop some great action from taking place across the weekend.

The wet weather proved no hurdle for the BDTA doubles players on Sunday, while the stars of the association were back on court in representative matches in the Association Junior League (AJL).

The BDTA had two winning teams in the AJL with the Under-12 Boys and Under-14 Girls playing some wonderful team tennis.

Here are this week’s results from the BDTA and AJL over the weekend:

SUNDAY

Section 6 Singles/Doubles

Berwick 8:48 v Beaconsfield 0:19, Pakenham 2:21 v Cranbourne 6:41, Clyde 5:34 v Narre Warren 3:22.

Section 7 Singles/Doubles

Officer 7:46 v Bunyip 1:6, Cranbourne 6:42 v Pakenham 2:28, Berwick – Bye.

Section 8 Singles/Doubles

Beaconsfield 2:23 v Berwick 6:39, Fountain Gate 6:43 v Officer 2:30, Narre Warren – Bye.

Section 9 Singles/Doubles

Berwick White 7:44 v Berwick Blue 1:15, Upper Beaconsfield 7:47 v Cranbourne 1:18, Sandhurst 2:21 v Narre Warren 3:24.

Section 10 Singles/Doubles

Berwick 3:29 v Gloucester 5:39, Cranbourne 7:44 v Officer 1:18, Narre Warren v Clyde (Washout).

Section 11 Doubles

Berwick White 3:24 v Berwick Blue 3:27, Upper Beaconsfield 6:36 v Narre Warren South 0:8, Narre Warren 1:13 v Officer 5:35.

Section 12 Doubles

Narre Warren Gold 0:21 v Narre Warren Green 6:36, Fountain Gate 0:10 v Cranbourne 6:36, Officer – Bye.
