Socials hold off Snipers

Just Social is the first team through to the grand final of the South West Gippsland Darts League (SWGDL) after an epic major semi-final battle against Snipers.

Just Social, undefeated after 14 rounds of the home-and-away season, were pushed to the limit by the Snipers but dug deep to run out 8-7 winners and earn a berth in the grand final on Tuesday 7 June.

Dale, Terry and Troy, and the rest of the Just Social team, will now sit back and watch the Snipers take on Paky One in the cut-throat preliminary final.

Paky One, who finished fourth on the ladder, were far too strong in the minor semi-final for the Warriors, with a comprehensive 8-3 victory sending the Warriors packing from this year’s competition.

Paky One has an experienced team and will fancy its chances of making this year’s grand final from fourth position on the ladder.

The Snipers, meanwhile, only lost two games for the home-and-away season – both against Just Social – and will be keen to book a fourth clash between the two sides this year.

The Paky One team of Damien, Keith, Noel, Paul, Sherryl and Ted will be up against some sharp-shooters from the Snipers, with Dean and Aaron throwing the most tons in the competition this year.

Preliminary Final Tip: Snipers to defeat Paky One 8-6.
