The Deep Creek Golf Club bid farewell to two of its most popular members last week with Steve and Yvonne Smith heading to their very own golfing heaven on the Murray River.
Steve and Yvonne have sold their house in Pakenham and moved to Moama, just a short drive from their new home course at the Rich River Country Club.
The husband and wife team have lived in Pakenham for close to 30 years and been regulars at the former Pakenham Golf Club, now Deep Creek, for many years.
Both are very handy golfers and will be sadly missed by the members at the Deep Creek Golf Club.
The Gazette caught up with Steve and Yvonne as they enjoyed cold refreshments just two days out from the big move.
“We’re really excited, it’s golfing heaven up there,” Steve said.
“We’ll be joining up as members at Rich River, and it’s not a long drive from Moama to some great course along the Murray River.
“We’ll miss Pakenham, but we’re very excited to make the move and start again up there.”
Best wishes Steve and Yvonne…you’ll both be sadly missed.
