Caldern brings safety and inclusion to the show

The upcoming Pakenham Show will feature a new stand to the Adventure Trail from Caldern, the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Emergency Responders’ Network.

Principal Advocate Theo Constantinou said Caldern supports and represents diverse members of Australia’s emergency services sector.

Caldern aims to break down barriers, inform communities, and support inclusion across the sector.”

It encourages people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to explore employment and volunteer opportunities in fire, ambulance, police, and rescue services.

“Traditionally, the human face of emergency services organisations has lacked diversity,” Caldern states.

“However, escalating natural hazard risks due to social, environmental and economic drivers requires a transformation in how these risks are managed and who needs to manage them

Caldern has previously participated in events including the 2025 Yea Show, Diwali Festival, CFA and Bushfire events, community markets, and the Wonthaggi Show.

Australia relies on over 235,000 emergency services volunteers, but numbers have declined in recent years. CALD representation in emergency services remains low, with only a small percentage of personnel from diverse backgrounds.

Caldern works to overcome these barriers, promoting equity, visibility, and participation in a sector vital to national safety.

The Pakenham Show provides an opportunity for the community to engage with Caldern, learn practical safety tips, and explore ways to get involved in emergency services.

Caldern will be displayed at Pakenham Show Saturday 14 March 2026. Members and their families who attend, can access multilingual Fire Safety and Beach Safety fridge magnets, along with other safety items available for under $10. Free Adventure Trail Show Bag reflects Caldern’s nonprofit focus on community education and engagement.
