A Pakenham resident says repeated delays over a water leak in her court have left the local road damaged and shaken her confidence in authorities.
Jane, who lives in Pargeter Court, first reported the leak to South East Water (SEW) and Cardinia Shire Council on 5 January.
“I have rang every day and keep being told that it will get fixed,” she said.
“Thousands of litres of water have been pouring down the drain and now it is clearly doing major damage to the road.”
In a private discussion, Jane said SEW initially told her repairs were delayed due to awaiting Cardinia Shire Council to arrange an arborist to inspect a tree.
She then recalled that Council workers visited the site on 8 January but left without inspecting the damage.
SEW General Manager of Service Delivery Tim Lloyd is confident his crews acted swiftly to address the issue.
“We received a report on 5 January 2026 and attended the site the same day,” he said.
“We identified a small leak on one of our water pipes, not causing property damage and flowing safely along the gutter.
“Following this assessment, we returned on 8 January, started repairs and stopped the leak. A temporary connection is now in place to isolate the pipe while maintaining water supply to the customer’s property until we complete the renewal later this week.”
