Man charged with murder following alleged stabbing

Detectives from the Homicide Squad have charged a man with murder following a fatal stabbing in Clyde on Monday December 22.

A 27-year-old Clyde man was charged with one count of murder and was expected to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on December 23.

The charge follows an incident where emergency services were called at approximately 3.30pm on Monday to reports of a two-car collision at the intersection of Clyde-Five Ways and Railway Roads in Clyde.

Upon Ambulance Victoria’s arrival it was identified that a passenger in the vehicle, a 36-year-old Endeavour Hills man, had a number of stab wounds to the upper body.

He was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

Police will allege two men were previously involved in an altercation at a property on Carrera Crescent where the Endeavour Hills man was stabbed.

A 27-year-old Clyde man was arrested on Carrera Crescent around 4.50pm.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam/CCTV footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit an online confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
