Fatal crash in Lang Lang

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Lang Lang on December 22.

Emergency services were called to reports a milk truck and car collided on South Gippsland Highway near the intersection of Bass Highway just before 1pm.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision.

Motorists driving between Caldermeade and Nyora should detour through Lang Lang, using Westernport Road, McDonalds Track, Heylens Road, Yannathan Road, Watts Road and Lang Lang-Poowong Road, allowing extra travel time.

The signals team is monitoring conditions in the area and will adjust traffic lights to minimise congestion along detour routes.
