Join Inner Wheel tonight in campaign against gender-based violence

The Inner Wheel Club of Pakenham, along with all other Inner Wheel Clubs throughout the world and many other concerned groups, will be recognising the United Nations “16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence” which commences on 25 November 2025.

In support of this initiative the Cardinia Shire Council has agreed to have the Cardinia Cultural Centre bathed in orange light during the evening on each of the 16 nights.

As a tangible token of support we invite all interested residents to join us on a symbolic walk around the lake adjacent to the Cardinia Cultural Centre to back this initiative and be present when the lights first appear on Tuesday 25 November.

We would like as many as possible to join us on this significant occasion.

Our plan is to commence with a BYO picnic tea in the amphitheatre area of the Cardinia Cultural Centre at 6:30 pm on Tuesday.

Those who would prefer to arrive later will be welcome at 7:15 where we will have some significant speakers including our International Inner Wheel President Kay Morland, who will speak about Inner Wheel’s worldwide involvement in this campaign.

A leisurely walk around the lake will follow, and at the conclusion, we are planning a group photo outside the Cultural Centre backed by the illuminated building.

These images will be shared across the world as other clubs in other countries share their commitment to the cause.

We encourage you to wear a touch of orange as this is the colour of hope and optimism, chosen by the United Nations to represent a brighter future free from violence against women and girls.

By wearing orange, we make a visible statement of solidarity and commitment to change.

Inner Wheel Clubs across the world stand together in creativity, compassion, and courage.

By uniting, we raise awareness and help build safer communities.

Any enquiries please contact the Inner Wheel Club of Pakenham at iiw.au.pakenham@gmail.com.

We look forward to the support of our local community on Tuesday 25 November 2025.
