Cup visits primary school

Excitement filled Devon Meadows Primary School on Friday 17 October as students welcomed the iconic Lexus Melbourne Cup trophy as part of its 2025 national tour.

The visit was one of several Victorian stops on the 23rd Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour, which spans more than one million kilometres and connects communities across Australia and the world.

The 18-carat gold trophy, valued at $850,000, is known as the “Loving Cup” for its three handles representing the connection between jockey, trainer and owner.

Victoria Racing Club CEO Kylie Rogers said the tour is “one of the most significant ways we can share the excitement and legacy of the Lexus Melbourne Cup with communities across Australia and beyond”.
