Recognise a local legend for Australia Day awards

Cardinia Shire Council is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Australia Day Awards.

The council’s Australia Day Awards recognise and honour the outstanding achievements of citizens and community events that made an important contribution to the shire.

Nominations can be made online in the following award categories:

-Citizen of the Year

-Senior Citizen of the Year

-Young Citizen of the Year

-Community Event of the Year

The council asked residents to please read the 2026 Australia Day Award Nomination Guidelines to confirm nominee eligibility before submitting your application.

Nominations can be submitted online through the council’s SmartyGrants platform, until midnight Wednesday 5 November 2025: cardinia.vic.gov.au/AusDayAwards2026
