Green thumbs gather for a day in the sun

Another successful planting day in Garfield, with many locals gathering to contribute to a critical conservation project.

On Sunday, Cannibal Creek Landcare hosted a community planting day at their Lovers Lane site, as part of a project to revegetate a five-acre plot of land for local biodiversity.

With over 2600 plants in the ground, the 68 locals who participated enjoyed a day in the sun.

The efforts from many other landcare groups and residents help the ongoing work to provide habitat for local wildlife, including the endangered southern brown bandicoot, which was recently spotted at the site.
