Man arrested following aggravated carjacking

Police have arrested a man in Morwell following an alleged aggravated carjacking in Glen Iris on 12 August.

A man was reversing his ute out of a driveway on Charles Street when he was approached by another man about 5.30am.

It is alleged the offender produced a sharp implement and lunged at the victim before stealing his Hilux ute.

The ute was later dumped in Morwell about 12.30pm on the Princes Freeway near tram Road.

Uniform officers arrested a 32-year-old man from Pakenham in Morwell about 12am this morning.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
