Primary school in lockdown due to gas leak

Columba Catholic Primary School is currently in lockdown as emergency services are responding to a gas leak across the road.

The alert was issued at 11.10am Thursday morning by the CFA, advising the community of a gas leak on Hope Street.

VicEmergency said there is currently no threat to the community.

Nearby residents will smell a strong gas smell, and are being told to remain clear of the area as emergency services respond to the scene.

The primary school is currently staying indoors while awaiting further advice from emergency services.
