Sleepless for Aurora

Winter’s first Aurora put on a stunning show Sunday night, June 1, and into Monday, June 2, lighting up the southern skies over Melbourne and surrounding areas. The natural light display was visible to the naked eye from parts of the Hills, Cardinia Shire and Casey.

Many of our readers stayed up late to catch the breathtaking spectacle, capturing beautiful photos of the glowing ribbons of green and pink dancing across the night sky.

A big thank you to our dedicated readers who braved the cold and gave up their sleep to capture these incredible moments. Your photos and videos helped bring the magic of the southern lights to all who missed it.

If you missed it, keep an eye out—the southern lights may return for another dazzling display soon!
