Revitalized space unveiled

The Bowling Green area at Pakenham Evergreen Retirement Village, which had become old and underused, has been completely revamped with new landscaping and garden. The space is now inviting for families and visitors to gather and enjoy the area together.

Evergreen manager Sharyn Allsopp is pleased it took shorter than expected, with the renovation completed in just three months.

“The workers that we had were absolutely fantastic! They were kind and serious, and they worked with all the residents. We were not put out by the workmen at all,” she said.

The grand opening of the removal of the Bowling Green and the unveiling of the new landscaped area took place last month, with the president of the Resident Committee,

There was also a BBQ, where residents and visitors could gather, enjoy the new space, and celebrate the improvements together.

The reaction from residents has been overwhelmingly positive, with gratitude toward the building’s owners for creating such a beautiful space.

“They’re so happy. It’s just a lovely, quiet space to enjoy. Now people can go out there and enjoy it, have family gatherings, just enjoy the space with everybody,” Sharyn said.

Sharyn expresses a desire to set up a gazebo in their village and is looking for community support to make this happen.

“We want to organise a fundraiser or something to raise money for a gazebo in our village.“
