Cardinia proactive tasking unit strikes again

Cardinia Proactive Tasking Unit investigated an alleged theft attempt at Pakenham Marketplace car park on Friday, March 7 around 6.00 PM.

A male witnessed a female offender allegedly attempting to cut his bike lock to steal his bicycle. He approached the female offender, an argument occurred, and the female offender used the cutting instrument to allegedly assault the victim. The victim received a deep cut to his head, requiring medical attention at hospital.

On Monday 10 March, members from the Cardinia Proactive Tasking Unit, based out of Pakenham Police Station, arrested the female offender after a short foot pursuit.

A subsequent search warrant was conducted at a Pakenham address. The 28 year old female was charged with reckless cause injury, unlawful assault and theft.

Police refused bail and the offender was remanded to appear at court.

The Cardinia Proactive Tasking Unit has been formed as the safety of the Cardinia Community is of the utmost importance to Police, and they will continue to be tasked to protect the community.
