Art comes alive

For the first time, the highly anticipated Upper Beaconsfield Art and Photography Exhibition will run over two days, 15 and 16 February to give more visitors the chance to experience this vibrant showcase of local talent.

The community-focused exhibition, held alongside the festival, welcomes artists of all ages and skill levels, from primary school students to residents of Salisbury House aged care facility.

Curator Gail Kelly said a unique aspect of the exhibition is that artists can submit works on any subject and in any medium through an online entry form, with all entries judged together under one category.

A highlight of the exhibition is the People’s Choice Award, where attendees can vote for their favorite pieces—a popular feature for visitors. This year also introduces a Youth Encouragement Award, celebrating emerging young talent.

There will be a feature artist in both Art and Photography, providing a platform for local creatives to showcase their work. Art workshops on Saturday 15 February and free painting activities on Sunday 16 February, promise engaging opportunities for visitors to get involved.

The exhibition will extend its Saturday hours from 2-7 pm, with an official opening at 4pm featuring light refreshments.

Residents and visitors are encouraged not to miss the opportunity to celebrate the rich artistic talent of Upper Beaconsfield.
