Daisy O’Loughlin and Sevanna Reid, both 12 and in year 6 at St. Columba Catholic Primary School were surprised and thrilled to receive their awards and had no idea of the monetary value which pleasantly delighted them.

Daisy is the recipient of the Alcott-Freeman Award. She has enjoyed sport, performing arts, netball and maths.

Sevanna was awarded the Mackilliop Social Justice Award and chose Writing, Sport, Maths and Netball as her favourite subjects.

Both agreed that it’s a wonderful, welcoming environment at the school and both have loved their time spent there.

The girls will put their prize money into building up their savings. Next year both girls will be attending Marist Sion in Warragul.

Mackenzie Straughair, 12, was awarded the 2024 Spirit Award and Ryder Turra, 11, was awarded the Quiet Achiever Award.

Both Year 6 students at Bunyip Primary School expressed their gratitude to the Bunyip Community News for sponsoring their awards.
