It was a horror weekend on Cardinia’s roads with three fatal car crashes.

During the early hours of Saturday November 30, it’s believed a vehicle was travelling along Olympic Way when it left the road and crashed through the back wall of Coles Lakeside about 3.50am.

The force of the crash caused part of a concrete wall to collapse onto the vehicle, trapping the single occupant inside.

The male driver was declared deceased at the scene.

Several supermarket staff members inside the store at the time escaped injury.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash were yet to be established and police will prepare a report for the coroner.

On the same day, emergency services were called to a two-car collision in Nar Nar Goon.

According to police, it’s believed the vehicles collided on Seven Mile Road just after 3.30pm, causing one vehicle to roll.

One person, who was yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

Three people were airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.

In another separate incident, a man died after his vehicle struck a tree in Garfield early Monday morning 2 December.

The crash occurred on Nar Nar Goon-Longwarry Road shortly before 1.30am.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the male driver died at the scene.

The investigation continues and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
