Garfield Picture Theatre celebrates 100 years

It was a day of music and celebration as the Garfield Picture Theatre marked its 100th year.

On Sunday 17 November, many locals gathered at the old theatre that has been a titular venue for live performance.

Owners Fred Perez and Sue McMahon hosted the celebration, they welcomed the granddaughter of the original family who built the venue in 1924, Michelle O’Donahue.

Thanks went to Community Bank Bunyip & District for their support of the event.

The day was followed by music from local performers including band the ‘Funk Divinos’.

Perez said the theatre would like to thank everyone who participated as well as O’Donahue and the rest of the family who attended.
