Footy colours, face painting and live music were on show at BFIRM Personal Training in Berwick, with a charity sports event raising more than $2000 for Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Pakenham.

Part-owner Michael Harold said the event attracted about 100 participants, including about 40 children and 60 adults sweating it out as they ran around 50 fitness stations.

“It was an unreal day,“ he said.

Kicking off at 9am on Friday 27 September, the event included a visit from Beaconsfield business Cooking 4 Kids and an on-site coffee van.

Mr Harold said the event was another charity event raising funds for RDA Pakenham, which they first supported three years ago after hearing about a client’s daughter’s experience attending the facilities, since raising about $67,000 for the group.

“RDA Pakenham is something that we love supporting,“ he said.

“It just hit pretty close to home to see their facilities.

“BFIRM Has been able to create a purpose-built shelter.“

Mr Harold said he and fellow part-owner Jarrod Matthews were grateful to the 14 staff members and community supporters who volunteered on the day.

“We’re extremely grateful to all of our team,“ he said.

“Without all of them volunteering their time, it wouldn’t have been possible.“

Mr Harold said the team were gearing up for the upcoming corporate golf charity day at Settlers Run Golf and Country Club this Friday, with all funds going towards RDA Pakenham.
