Fatal fire in Emerald

Police are investigating following a fatal house fire in Emerald in the morning of Thursday 26 September.

Emergency services were called to a residential property on Kilvington Drive at about 2.40am after reports of a fire.

A woman, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

Another man and woman who were inside the property at the time were able to evacuate and were not injured.

A crime scene has been established and the cause of the fire will be investigated however it is not believed to be suspicious.
