Senior Festival fast approaching

Seniors in Cardinia Shire are encouraged to stay active, explore new activities, and make new friends as part of the upcoming Seniors Festival.

Happening across the state throughout October, this year’s theme of the Victorian Seniors Festival is ‘Explore. Engage. Evolve.’, with the focus being on engaging, connecting and celebrating seniors in the community.

This year’s event includes a live show and Devonshire tea at the Cardinia Cultural Centre from 10am to noon on Wednesday 16 October, a Cultural Day with Cardinia Senior Citizens Group from 11am to 2pm on Saturday 19 October at the Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre, Health and Wellbeing with Officer Gurdwara from 2.30 to 7pm on Saturday 26 October at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Darbar Officer, and Seniors Sports Day at Cardinia Life from 10am to 2.30pm on Wednesday 30 October.

Seniors can also use public transport across the state from Sunday 6 October to Sunday 13 October, including travel across all metropolitan services, V/Line train and coach services, and selected regional bus services outside of the myki-enabled area.

The festival will officially launch at a Celebration Day event at Federation Square on Sunday 6 October with the entire precinct activated from noon to 7pm.
