Free green waste drop-off available for storm-impacted residents

To support residents impacted by the recent storms, Cardinia Council is providing an additional free green waste drop-off event in Lysterfield.

The Cleanaway Resource Recovery Centre at 840 Wellington Road in Lysterfield will be accepting residential amounts of green waste including tree branches and trunks (up to 30 centimetres wide and one metre long), weeds, grass clippings, leaves, and flowers from Tuesday 10 September to Sunday 22 September.

Residents must present photo ID as proof of residence within Cardinia Shire to access the free service.

Waste will only be accepted from residential vehicles and trailers, while commercial business operators cannot use this service.

Any residents who have spoilt food waste as a result of the recent power outages can dispose of food in additional council bins provided at recreation reserves in Gembrook, Cockatoo, Emerald and Garfield.

For more information on how to dispose of green waste, visit www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/dropoff or www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/greenwaste
