Ryan Road Childcare’s exceeds goal from biggest morning tea

It was a morning of sweet delight at the Ryan Road Childcare & Swim School with their biggest morning tea raising over $1500 for the Cancer Council.

The childcare centre hosted their morning tea on Thursday 23 May with the morning drop off for families marked by delightful surprises of cupcakes and biscuits for the children and adults.

The target was to raise over $1000 for the day which was passed very shortly after opening for the day, with the total standing over $1500 by mid-morning.

The delicious goods were a whole community effort with families bringing in their own bakes for the day.

Not only staff and kids enjoyed the cakes, as many workers from the Ryan Road upgrade works coming over to drop in some coins for cupcakes during their morning break.

Ryan Road Childcare runs numerous fundraisers from the Good Friday Appeal, Amy Gillett Foundation and many more.

This is the first morning tea dedicated to the Cancer Council. Director Jane Rowland was proud to have such support as the cause ‘affects everyone’ and loved how much the community spirit comes alive in these events.

The centre also thanked Mayfield Childcare for supporting their efforts in these fundraisers.

The event is timely as very soon will be the opening of a new section to the facility, introducing a forest kindergarten where local children will be able play among the trees.
