Church celebrating 130 years of service

St John’s Nar Nar Goon Anglican Church is celebrating turning 130 on Sunday 19 May.

It will mark 130 years of spiritual service to Nar Nar Goon and the wider community.

Everyone is invited to join the congregation for a 10am service to be followed at 11.30am with a ceremony, when The Right Reverend Dr Richard Treloar, Anglican Bishop of Gippsland will declare the new front fence open, to be followed by a light lunch.

In researching past members of the church, they include names such as Foulsham, Mortimer, Warfe, Brooke, Kenny, Moore, Kroschel, McCutcheon, Benson, Collins, Deering, Cooper, Chatfield, Downes, Gray, Wheatley and Taylor.

Many of these names are familiar and some families still live locally.
