12kg of weed found in car

Cardinia Highway Patrol officers located more than a speeding driver whilst on patrol in Tynong North on 11 January, the routine pull over would allegedly lead to the discovery 12kg of cannabis.

Officers observed a vehicle travelling at 104kmh in an 80kmh zone on Princes Highway at 4pm.

The vehicle was intercepted, and the male driver returned a positive preliminary drug test.

Police subsequently searched the car and located what is alleged to be just over 12kg of cannabis, a small amount of cocaine and a quantity of cash.

The 34-year-old male driver has been charged with multiple offences including drug possession and trafficking, proceeds of crime, drug driving and speeding.

The Drouin man has been bailed to appear in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 16 May.
