Police have arrested seven teenage boys after they were found in an allegedly stolen car in Cranbourne East on the night of Friday 5 January.

The police Air Wing spotted a suspected stolen, white-colored Toyota CHR traveling in the Hallam area.

As they watched overhead, the youths were seen piling out of the dumped vehicle at the corner of Elmslie Drive and Cobain Street in Cranbourne East shortly before 10pm.

The group ran to a property along Joplin Close and hid inside.

Officers surrounded the home and six youths surrendered peacefully.

A seventh boy was located hiding inside the house and taken into custody.

The youths, aged between 13 and 17, were all charged with theft of motor vehicles.

Three of the youths have been remanded to appear before a children’s court later on Saturday 6 January.

Four of the youths have been bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

It is alleged the vehicle was stolen during an aggravated burglary in Box Hill North on New Year’s Day.
