aggravated carjacking in Officer

Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit investigators are appealing for public assistance following an aggravated carjacking in Officer on Wednesday 6 December.

Police have been told two unknown males arranged to purchase a vehicle from the victim on Charming Loop about 7.15pm.

It is believed that the victim, a 22-year-old Officer man, then agreed to take the unknown males on a test drive of the silver Ford XR6 Turbo baring registration UDL322.

Whilst travelling near Gum Leaf Lane, the rear male passenger produced a knife and threatened the victim if he didn’t hand over his phone.

The same offender then demanded that the victim get out of the vehicle.

It is believed the victim then exited his vehicle near the Officer Train Station carpark.

The offenders then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

The 22-year-old man was not physically injured during the incident.

The vehicle is yet to be recovered.

Both male offenders are perceived to be 20-25 years old, Caucasian in appearance, with dark hair, facial hair, of a heavy build and wearing white tracksuits.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at crimestoppersvic.com.au
