Remembrance Day is this Saturday 11 November. Several events are being held at 11am for locals to gather and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Pakenham
Pakenham RSL will be holding a service at the cenotaph at 11am. The RSL advises people to arrive at 10.45am.
Berwick
Berwick RSL will hold their service at the Berwick Cenotaph on High Street, starting at 10.45am.
Kooweerup
Kooweerup & District RSL is holding a service at the cenotaph in Cochrane Park at 11am. The RSL also asks attendees to arrive by 10.45am.
Upper Beaconsfield
A service will be held at 11am by the Upper Beaconsfield RSL at the cenotaph in town. The RSL says it will just be a service – no catering involved.
Bunyip
Bunyip RSL will be hosting a service at the cenotaph on Main Street starting at 10.45am.
Emerald
Emerald will be covered in poppies from 1 November as is tradition. The Remembrance Day service will be held at Anzac Place commencing at 10.30am.
Cockatoo
The Remembrance Day service will be held at the Cockatoo RSL commencing at 10.15am, with a minute’s silence at 11am.
Gembrook
A service will be held at Remembrance Park on Gembrook Road at 10.45am. People are invited to go back to the club rooms after the service for light refreshments.
Lang Lang
Lang Lang RSL will be hosting a short service at the Lang Lang cenotaph, attendees should arrive by 10.45am.
