Cardinia Shire Council wants locals to find new ways to connect, socialise and nourish your mental and physical well-being this October for Mental Health Month.

Throughout October, local organisations and groups will be showcasing events that help empower our community to be more healthy, connected and resilient.

Mayor Cr Tammy Radford said the council will be promoting well-being focused events throughout Mental Health Month.

“We know our community wants to be healthier, better connected and more resilient, that’s why Council is helping to raise awareness about mental well-being this October”, Mayor Radford said.

Henty Ward Councillor and mental health advocate Councillor Carol Ryan encourages residents to take up as many Mental Health Month activities as they can.

“Whether you try checking in with those you care about, take a short daily walk through a local park to boost your mood, or challenge yourself to the Cardinia Fun Run and Walk – the smallest step can have a hugely positive impact on your mental health and the mental health of those around you,” Cr Ryan said.
