Pakenham childcare centre named in top eight per cent of Australia

G8 Education’s Great Beginnings Pakenham has joined an elite club of Australia’s top eight percent of early learning services, after receiving “Exceeding” in all seven quality areas from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) in a recent assessment.

“I am so proud of my team, and it is wonderful for the high-quality education and care we provide the children every day to be recognised and celebrated in this way,” said Great Beginnings Centre Manager Nina Blagojevic.

Early child education and care services are assessed and rated by their state and territory regulatory authority against the seven quality areas of the National Quality Standard (NQS).

Of the 17,000 early learning services operating under the National Quality Framework in Australia, only 1 in 12 have equalled Great Beginnings Pakenham’s result.

Ms Blagojevic said it’s her team’s ability to make the 160-place centre feel like a small, tight-knit community that sets them apart.

“All 50 team members know the names of every child and family that attends the service and feels confident to greet them,” she said.

“When a new family enrols in our service we have a saying, and that is ‘welcome to our family’ because that is what it feels like at our service, just one big family.

“We educate more than 250 children across the week at Great Beginnings Pakenham, and our educators and teachers are committed to ensuring the needs and interests of every child are met.

“Our philosophy is ‘seeking and hearing each child’s voice’ and that is what leads us in our program and practice every day.”

Great Beginnings is part of G8 Education, an early learning providers dedicated to its purpose of creating the foundations for learning for life.

G8 Education Area Manager, Rebecca Lomagno said it is also the large, natural environments which entice families to the service.

“The centre has beautiful, open outdoor spaces and the indoor environments are designed to create comforting, natural places for learning and exploring,” she said.

“More natural spaces and materials promote greater curiosity and discovery for children, which should always be at the heart of early learning.”

“We have a long-standing, qualified and talented team of educators and teachers at Great Beginnings Pakenham that all work seamlessly together across the large service.

G8 Education Regional Manager Kristy Gray said, “the service is setting the standard for quality education and care, and I am so proud of what the team has achieved.”
