Re.Group entity Return-It has been appointed as one of the three Network Operators for Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic).
The Return-It team said this is a significant opportunity, allowing the company to broaden their substantial recycling operations in the South East.
“We are excited to announce that we are on the search for Refund Point Partners for Depots, Reverse Vending Machines and Over the Counter (OTC) who will also reap the benefits of the scheme,” Return-It CEO Marc Churchin said.
As a network operator, Return-It will operate across the East Zone, establishing more than 190 container refund points across these regions.
Return-It will not only distribute refund amounts to consumers, but they will also pay handling fees to their Refund Point Partners while keeping track of CDS Vic participation and redemption rates.
Return-It has a wealth of experience running contemporary container deposit schemes across Australia.
Coupled with their expertise in harnessing various technologies, they aim to offer the finest aspects of Australian container return schemes to their partners.
Return-It are now inviting interested parties to be a part of their mission as Partners, either by hosting a Reverse Vending Machine in their carpark (approximately 4 parking bays) or by hosting a Small
Format Refund Point in the form of a small Reverse Vending Machine or Over the Counter solution.
“As part of our expanding network, we anticipate the involvement of Partners who can evolve with us, fostering business development opportunities that increase container volumes in the long term,” Mr Churchin said.
“It is our goal to create a dynamic network of operations, underpinned by the support of the Return-It framework.”
Partners will be required to meet certain expectations, including the ability to mobilise by the planned CDS Vic commencement date, 1 November 2023, continuously enhance business operations to recover as many containers as possible from the local community and adapt to changing customer demands and preferences.
Return-It’s relationship with Partners will span a period of 5 years, mirroring the terms of the company’s Network Operator contract.
As a part of this relationship, they will provide Partners with a Handling Fee per each Suitable Eligible Container received.
“We look forward to welcoming like-minded organisations into the fold and turning our joint ambitions into a reality,” Mr Churchin said.
