Cardinia Shire Council invites the community to have their say on the Community Safety Policy with feedback open from 1 June to 2 July, 2023.
Through the Liveability Plan consultation process, the community has said to the council that improving safety across the shire is important.
The Community Safety Policy is a key initiative within the Council Plan, aligned with priority one: Strong Communities.
This policy is intended to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based framework for the way the council approaches community safety, to maximise impact.
The council has already received feedback from a range of key internal and external stakeholders to develop the draft policy.
Mayor Cr Tammy Radford encouraged community members to give their feedback.
“The Community Safety Policy will provide a framework for how council can create a safer shire,” Cr Radford said.
“We want to hear from community members about how you engage with council on safety matters and how you believe council can further its work to create a safer community.
“We’re committed to listening to our community, and working together to make our shire an even better place to live, work and play.”
Community members can provide input and feedback in several ways.
They can have their say online at cardinia.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay
They can do so in person at the council’s Civic Centre at 20 Siding Avenue, Officer, or by email through mail@cardinia.vic.gov.au, or by post at PO Box 7, Pakenham VIC 3810.
Residents can have their say at these drop-in times and locations:
* Cockatoo IGA, 10 June, 11.30am – 2pm.
* Lang Lang, Dick Jones Reserve, 17 June, 11.30am – 2pm
* Pakenham Marketplace, 15 June, 11.30am – 2pm.
* Pakenham Library, 24 June, 11.30am – 2pm.
