Roadworks for Brunt Road

Motorists are being notified of prospective road closures and traffic management along Brunt Road and Pioneer Way in Officer from 15 May to early November, due to upgrade works.

As part of the Officer Precinct Structure Plan, council will duplicate Brunt Road from the entrance of Blue Gum Park to the railway crossing, and extend Pioneer Way to connect with Brunt Road.

The works will also support the Princes Highway Intersection upgrade works and the development of Cardinia Shire’s urban growth corridor, while providing access to the new Officer Brunt Road Primary School.

Works will also include:

* Installation of a roundabout at the Brunt Road, Pioneer Way, and Edinburgh Drive intersection.

* Pavement construction.

* Parking bays.

* Drainage.

* Public lighting works.

* Kerb and channel.

* Line marking.

To ensure community safety, temporary road closures along Brunt Road are expected and traffic management including reduced speed limits and traffic and footpath detours will be in place throughout the duration of the upgrade works.

While council will work to minimise disruptions, increased noise, traffic, and longer than usual travel times may be temporarily experienced in the area.

Council is urging drivers to avoid the area if possible, or to seek alternate routes, as delays are expected.

Works are scheduled to be completed by November 2023, conditions permitting.
