The Council’s free school holiday events

Cardinia Shire Council has listed free and fun activities they will be hosting during the April school holidays.

Emerald Lake Precinct Easter Egg Giveaway

On Easter Sunday, 9 April, from 11am until stock runs out, the Council will running the Emerald Lake Precinct Easter Egg Giveaway.

Free chocolate Easter eggs will be given away to customers at the Emerald Museum, Emerald Lake Park Café, Model Railway, Lakeside Paddleboats.

The Council has partnered with the YMCA to deliver their first BMX event.

The event will be at Alma Treloar Reserve, Cockatoo on Wednesday 12 April starting at 12pm and ending at 2pm.

The Council will be supporting a Footy Fun Day to celebrate the return of AFL.

Residents are encouraged to be dressed in your team’s colours for a session of free and fun activities run by coaches from AFL South East. 

Non-footy players are welcome, the Aligned Leisure Street Team will be there. The Jeep is fully equipped and boasts an awesome range of sports equipment. 

Residents are reminded to bring hats, sunscreen, coats, and appropriate footwear. 

Footy Fun Day will be held at James Bathe Reserve in Officer on Thursday 13 April between 1pm to 2.30pm.

The Council’s partner in Cardinia Leisure, Aligned Leisure has a street team that will be delivering an event taking the leisure programs and services out to the wider community.

The Street Team have a Jeep that is fully equipped with a variety of health and wellness pieces, including sporting and fitness equipment and games.

The activities of Aligned Leisure will be run at the Multi Use Games Area at James Bathe Reserve on Thursday 13 April between 1pm to 2.30pm.

Aligned Leisure will also hole an exercise class in the park to bring fitness to the community in the Council’s Active April month.

The event will be centred around public exercise equipment that has been established across Cardinia’s parks.

If you have ever wondered how to use the exercise equipment in parks, this is your chance to learn how to benefit from this free space with the expertise of a personal trainer.

A trainer will walk you through the correct process and use of equipment and run a short class afterwards, everyone is welcome to attend.

The event will be held on Tuesday 18 April starting at 11.00am and running to 12.30pm.

The location is Eastone Reserve, Cardinia Lakes Estate, Pakenham

Aligned Leisure’s Street Team will be within the vicinity of the exercise equipment so if the kids don’t wish to use the exercise equipment, they can have some fun with the games and sports equipment from the Street Team Jeep.
