Freeway open after crash clean up

The Princes Freeway outbound between McGregor Road and Healesville-Kooweerup Road has reopened after an earlier collision.

A spokesperson for Victoria Police said emergency services were on scene after a truck and two cars collided in Pakenham this morning.

The collision occurred outbound on the Princes Freeway near McGregor Road about 11am.

“No one was seriously injured,” they said.

Lanes were blocked due to diesel on the road.

In an update at 1.25pm, VicTraffic confirmed the outbound lanes had reopened.

Pakenham SES and Nar Nar Goon CFA attended the scene, Pakenham SES spokesperson Shayne Honey said.

“Initial reports two children were trapped due to a crash involving a truck and two cars,” he said.

“When we arrived the children were still in the silver SUV but were able to be removed without the use of hydraulic tools by our rescue volunteers and ambulance paramedics.”
