More than 40 Christmas trees have brought the festive spirit to Garfield, as the town prepares for its annual Christmas Festival.
The 44 trees, donated by John’s Christmas Tree Farm in Drouin, make a spectacular sight on the main drag in Garfield.
Families and businesses have jumped on board to sponsor and decorate a Christmas tree as part of the Garfield Community Association’s Christmas Festival.
Committee member Helen Davey said the association had been running the event for about 10 years, and the tree decorating element has been popular since it was introduced in 2015.
“The main street smells amazing,” she said.
The main event of the festival will be held on Friday 16 December.
“We will have entertainment for kids, shops open late and the street closed off,” Ms Davey said.
“It’s a great atmosphere and an opportunity for people to see each other.
“It is also an opportunity to see what Garfield has to offer and encourage people to shop local.”
