St James Nar Nar Goon

The staff of St James Nar Nar Goon have a relentless focus on the care, safety, inclusion and wellbeing of children.

They are proud of the manner in which every child is known, nurtured and respected.

Students are confident that they can approach staff and know that their suggestions and concerns will be heard, that they will be treated with dignity and respect and that their trusted adults will support them.

This was highlighted during National Child Safety Week as students worked through particular activities focusing on different ways to keep themselves safe and how to get support when needed. Learning focused on personal, online, playground, school and community safety.

A team of senior students work with Principal Bec Kollaris to present the school’s Child Safety Policy, written in the student’s words to the student body.

Students at St James will tell you that their Principal and staff have two very important responsibilities, the first to keep them safe and the second being to help their children learn.

“We know that when our children feel safe and secure, that they are more confident and happier in themselves and this in turn impacts their increased success academically, socially and emotionally,” said Bec Kollaris, “as a mum this is what I want for my own son and therefore have the responsibility to provide the same high level of care and learning for our children at St James”.

The focus on safety, inclusion and wellbeing is supported by the schools three values of being respectful, responsible and safe and the expectation that these are lived by all members of the school community.

St James offers small classes in a picturesque rural setting. A warm invitation is extended to families to book a school tour to see this vibrant school community in action.

St James is currently taking enrolments from Foundation to Year 6 for 2023 and 2024. Please call 5942 5404 or email office@stjamesnng.catholic.edu.au
