Berwick Evening VIEW Club receives donation

The Berwick Evening VIEW Club was awarded a $1000 donation from AusNet Services as part of its Social Impact Program at its July monthly meeting.

The club was nominated for the award by one of its employees for the work done by VIEW clubs to support women and the education of children through the Learning For Life sponsorship’s of The Smith Family, which align with one of the program’s objectives.

The Berwick Evening VIEW Club sponsors scholarships for three students from prep through to high school.

VIEW stands for Voice, Interests and Education of Women.

AusNet experience and social impact manager Jessica Naylor gave a talk to the group about the company’s partnership with Foodbank Victoria – a much-needed service as food costs increase.

Club president Jan Whitaker said they had been focusing on school breakfast programs for thousands of students in Victoria, which matches well with the needs of disadvantaged students helped through The Smith Family.

“By working together and making connections like this, we can all benefit our communities and impact the lives of children and families here and across Australia,” she said.

The donation will be used to sponsor another child in 2023.
