Labor candidate launches Pakenham campaign

Labor’s campaign in the new electorate of Pakenham is off and running, with Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Action and Solar Homes, Lily D’Ambrosio officially launching Emma Vulin’s campaign.

Minister Lily D’Ambrosio joined a large group of supporters at Outlook Community Centre on Saturday 9 July where Emma said she wanted to represent the electorate of Pakenham to ensure the State Government continued to provide the infrastructure and services the fast-growing and diverse community needed.

Having lived in the Pakenham area for more than a decade, Emma spoke of her passion for her community and volunteer activities, in particular as a CFA volunteer since 2014 and currently 2nd Lieutenant at Upper Beaconsfield Fire Brigade.

As the mother of two young teens who attend school and play sports in Pakenham, she said she understood how important it was to have a government that invested in local education, transport, health services and community facilities.

Suffering from a significant stroke in 2016, Emma experienced the difficulties of eight months of rehabilitation and the challenge of having to navigate life as a single parent at the time while unable to write, drive or speak.

After spending so much time helping people with forms and accessing services, she experienced being the one having to ask for help and rely on assistance, she said.

Emma expressed her pride in what the State Government had achieved locally to support the needs of the growing area and paid tribute to the hard work of Bass MP Jordan Crugnale and Eastern Victoria MP Harriet Shing.
