A woman has been arrested in Pakenham after avoiding police and testing positive to drug use.

Cardinia Highway Patrol observed a female driver who made numerous turns to avoid police.

She was intercepted in Pakenham on the morning of Wednesday 20 July and enquiries revealed the 46-year-old was a recidivist suspended driver.

She was tested for drugs and returned a positive oral fluid sample for methylamphetamine.

The woman’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $895.

She will appear in court at a later date.
