Council pop-up at Longwarry market

Residents of Longwarry and the surrounding areas are invited to come along to Baw Baw Shire Council’s pop-up session at the Longwarry Market on Sunday 5 June.

The pop-up session will provide community members with the opportunity to ask questions, share ideas and provide councillors and senior council officers with feedback on the issues that matter to them.

By visiting people where they live, the council pop-up program aims to make it easier for residents to engage directly with council, get involved with community consultation opportunities and to learn more about the major projects council is undertaking across the shire.

Mayor Michael Leaney said council wanted to hear what is important to its community.

“Council pop-ups are a great opportunity for residents to meet face-to-face with councillors, and I strongly encourage all residents to come along and have a chat about the issues that are important to them,” Cr Leaney said.

“There is much for council to learn from conversations with residents through these pop-up sessions.”

The Longwarry council pop-up will be available from 10am to 12pm at the Longwarry Fire Station, Bennet Street, Longwarry.

Upcoming pop-ups include Neerim Junction on Thursday 21 July, Drouin South on Thursday 22 September, Warragul Farmers Market on Saturday 19 November and Tanjil South on Thursday 8 December.

For more information, including times and venues as they are confirmed, please visit Council Pop-up Program.
