Police have arrested two men two men driving a vehicle with alleged false registration plates following a pursuit throughout the South Eastern suburbs on Friday morning, 20 May.
The Air Wing assisted local police in arresting the pair after they allegedly failed to stop and travelled at high speeds in a 2007 Holden Caprice with false plates on the Princes Highway, Narre Warren around 1am, shortly after it allegedly evaded police.
The Air Wing followed the Holden through a number of suburbs including Narre Warren, Cranbourne and Tooradin, and on major roads including the Monash Freeway and South Gippsland Highway, police say.
At one stage the vehicle was allegedly detected travelling at 150km/h in a 100km/h zone.
The vehicle then came to a stop on Drouin Korumburra Road in Athlone around 2am.
The male driver and male passenger exited the vehicle and were arrested at the scene.
A 21-year-old Pakenham man and a 31-year-old Long Gully man are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
